Putting away the Christmas decor is always bittersweet. Knowing this season of advent has come to a close, but then clearing out the house and shelves and spaces feels very refreshing. We try to put things away early as a fresh start for the new year and because Emery’s birthday is in early January. ❄️ #untilnextyear

Went out with this crew (and Fenton, of course) and met a few friends to see the holiday flower display at the Como Conservatory and zoo. Seeing the monkeys and polar bear were an added bonus. 🐒 #advent #adventday19 #comozoo #apparentlywelikeblue

It’s amazing how much faster the holiday baking goes when you have help! My mom and sister and I made a few different Christmas cookies yesterday and, let’s just say I would still be baking now if they had not come over and worked their cookie baking magic. 😆 #advent #christmascookies #adventday18

I know I post a lot of sleeping baby pics and this guy basically lives in these overalls (because he’s a chubby fellow who is also crawling and climbing and moving everywhere fast.) But, he’s already 10 months old (😨😭) and pretty soon it’ll be harder and harder to snap these sweet shots of him sleeping like a little cherub, so I’m not stopping until I have to. On that note, he actually napped for 3.5 solid hours without waking up once! Must be the magic of Friday. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #ihadtimetodrinkmycoffee #itsagoodday #friday #sleepbaby

Let’s be honest, this is how we all feel when eating candy cane oreos with a glass of milk. #mmmm #sogood

Our regular scheduled advent plans were cancelled because I woke up with pink eye (😳☹️), so we got to make our lavender scented beeswax candles this morning instead and plan to watch The Snowy Day next. 🕯 ❄️ #itallworksout #plusitsmellsgoodinhere #advent #day11

‘Tis the season when I have a double batch of sugar cookie dough in the fridge ready to be rolled and baked and decorated, candle pouring and dipping supplies on the counter, multiple school projects spread out on the kitchen table to be finished, and a dozen other things to get done this week. But also zero motivation to get to any of them. There should be some sort of end of the year energy boost (other than that third cup of coffee) you can tap into, no?

Our sweet, cuddly, forever hugging and kissing, thoughtful, kind, generous, always willing to share what he has, silly, easy going, happy Oscar turned 5 today! We love him so much and we’re so thankful God made this little person a part of our family five years ago today. 💙 #oscardanielranem #fiveyearsold

Dec 3: We had a rough night. Fenton decided to be wide awake for a couple hours in the middle of the night, Declan didn’t feel good so he slept with us then threw up in our bed and all over the floor, and I’ve had a nasty head cold for five days now. To say we’re a bit tired would be an understatement. But right this second all the kids are quietly napping or playing and I’m sitting here enjoying this cozy candlelight under a warm blanket. This advent season I’m thankful for the God who helps us get through these tired days, for little moments of rest, and for a husband who works from home. 😷😴
