Lately our mornings involve staying in bed until at least 8, lots of toys, and occasionally (okay always) getting sat on. 😆 But it’s usually worth the extra few minutes of sleep.

I hope the kids always remember these days when little siblings peeked over their shoulders or stuck their heads right in their space as they read or did school work each day. The coziness of doing school in our home mixed with the noises of breakfast dishes being cleaned, kids squealing as they run around the house, somebody dancing, somebody calling for moms help, music always on, busy hands, busy feet, messes endless. . I imagined homeschool to look very different than it actually does. I imagined a one room schoolhouse where everyone raised their hand and politely asked intelligent questions and no one made fart jokes at the table while studying poetry. I imagined homeschool would look like a pretty picture in a magazine. But with five kids learning five different things at once our reality looks nothing like that. I’ve grown to let go of the perfect school room, the quiet learning environment, the pretty pictures in my head and embrace a new beauty. I hope I look back and remember these beautiful, chaotic, lovely days. . #homeschool #ranemschoolhouse #homeschoollife
